LORRAINE WORSLEY MBE DL Lorraine Worsley is the Managing Director of Countess Publicists Ltd and the Company is built on her reputation. All her associates are personally chosen by her to her high standards however all work is led by Lorraine. Lorraine has been a freelance broadcaster for thirty years mainly with the BBC. She started her career with the newly set-up BBC Radio Manchester which led to many years of social awareness and community action broadcasting. Her credits include presenting the “Torchlight” and “Signpost” and “Who Cares’ programmes for the BBC and Seeds of Faith for Radio 4; taking part on GMTV’s “Get up and Give”; producer and presenter of travel programme on the QE2 and from New York; presenter on medical and physiotherapy videos sold on QVC; television community service announcer; and Manchester “Children in Need” presenter. She has also appeared on Granada Breeze on health issues, and on Granada’s “Body Check”. She has been Regional Broadcast Manager for CSV Media, line managing CSV Media action desk producers based in each of the ten BBC radio stations across the North of England. Lorraine is a well known public speaker. Lorraine has also been Chairman of the Prince’s Trust for Greater Manchester, later becoming a member of the Regional Council; a Manchester Magistrate for 12 years; and Non-Executive Director on both the Stockport and Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authorities. Lorraine is also an accredited Independent Assessor for High Public Appointments for the Department of Culture Media and Sport. Lorraine was delighted to be made a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester in January 2008 Lorraine founded the charity Community Leisure Projects in the 1980s to enable young disabled people integrate into mainstream activities, with The Duke of Westminster as principal supporter. In 1998 Lorraine was awarded the M.B.E. for “outstanding service to broadcasting and the community”. She was asked to take over the position of Station Manager at Trafford Television with complete responsibility for budgeting, planning, promotion, production, advertising, public relations and marketing related to the on-air facilities at the Trafford Centre.
